Join us from the comfort of your home or work environment for our NEW online delivery of Creating an Engaging and Intentional Learning Environment.

This dynamic webinar by Dr Michael Nagel and our Walker Learning Consultant examines through presentation slides, video, expert panel discussions and audience Q&A on how to create engaging and meaningful environments that promote and sustain children’s learning through play.

This PD is split into two manageable sessions of 3 hours each over 2 consecutive days. Dr Michael Nagel, Associate Professor, Teacher and Academic at a leading Queensland university will be presenting on the first day. Dr Nagel is one of Australia’s foremost experts in the areas of cognition & learning in human development, early learning and neurological development in children & adolescent psychology. He will be exploring the importance of creating spaces that nurture and inspire whilst facilitating learning. At the end of his session, he will be joined by our Walker Learning consultant for an expert panel discussion and audience Q&A. The final hour of the first day will be devoted to Walker Learning environments. This will be picked up again on the second day where our Walker Learning consultant will explore:

  • The key elements of quality learning environments indoors and outdoors
  • Considerations for design, set up, materials and equipment
  • The importance of open ended learning spaces
  • Supporting children to resource their own learning
  • Planning for ongoing modifications
  • Intentional teaching.

You will also be introduced to examples of how to add and use everyday materials within a realistic budget to assist children in their learning, engagement and exploration both indoors and outdoors.

This is the session for those educators who want to offer inviting, collaborative and engaging environments as part of Investigations and Walker Learning.

This PD Session is suitable for teachers and educators working with children aged 3 to 8 years of age.

Completing Creating Engaging and Intentional Learning Environments will contribute 3 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Delivery and assessment of NSW Curriculum/Early Years Learning Framework addressing standard descriptors 1.1.2, 2.5.2 & 3.3.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
