Walker Learning Whole School Accreditation
Once whole school accreditation is achieved, the continued relationship between the school and Walker Learning ensures the continued strengthening of the Walker Learning Approach. Continued development starts from the moment of Accreditation. The school uses feedback through ongoing mentoring and professional development to update its action plan to continue to improve delivery, strengthen its implementation and deepen its understanding of the Pedagogy.
A Walker Learning school promoting our logo must engage in ongoing professional development (PD) annually. This is flexible and can include online PD for new staff and leaders, mentoring for teachers, or hosting Study Tours in association with us. Walker Learning Accredited Schools must commit to a minimum of one Study Tour a year in Australia. The schedule for Study Tours conducted in international schools is mutually agreed upon between Walker Learning and the school.
Walker Learning Whole School Accreditation ongoing PD requirements can be met during the Study Tour preparation process with a pre-Study Tour review being conducted by a Waker Learning consultant plus one full day of complimentary mentoring for each Study Tour hosted.
Walking Learning Study Tours and Walker Learning Professional Development can only be hosted and provided in association with the Walker Learning Group Pty Ltd.
Evaluation for Whole School Accreditation
Each Walker Learning Accredited school is regularly evaluated to ensure that the standards and practices of the pedagogy are being maintained. Evaluation takes place at least once every five years or earlier if required. The Walker Learning Group will annually audit Walker Learning Accredited schools for ongoing professional learning engagement and communication from the school leaders and teachers. Non participation in professional learning or no communication from the school during a school year will trigger an evaluation of the school’s commitment to the implementation of Walker Learning. A self-study questionnaire review will be completed by the school and reviewed by a Walker Learning consultant. The school engaging in a self-study questionnaire is a key element in the school’s continual improvement and commitment to the pedagogy. Should the evaluation process indicate an inadequate commitment to the standards and practices of the Walker Learning pedagogy the school will be required to improve its implementation practices or no longer be deemed Accredited.
* The Walker Learning Logo can only be used on a school’s website and in email footers if the school has fulfilled the evaluation requirements for Accreditation.
