Session times:

Thurs 19th May - 4.00pm to 5.30pm (AEST)
Thurs 2nd June - 4.00pm to 5.30pm (AEST)

This is a “Deep Dive PD” designed for practitioners and leaders who have already commenced implementing the Walker Learning Approach and are using the Walker Learning Planning & Documentation.

Join us for these after-hours extension workshops which explore a range of practical strategies and ideas to assist teachers in providing additional and meaningful literacy and numeracy into the school day. This presentation is broken up into 2 sessions providing the opportunity for practical implementation between the sessions. The concluding session incorporates a consultant-led review and professional dialogue and the opportunity for professional sharing in small group break-out rooms.

The session will focus on the variety of ways literacy, numeracy and subject areas can be strengthened and enhanced during Investigation time. We examine how literacy and numeracy links are made through planning, documentation and conversation, and how explicit instruction continues during formal teaching throughout the day.

In addition, we review the importance of creating open-ended learning spaces that nurture and inspire whilst facilitating learning and linking to the curriculum framework.
