What you will learn from this session:

Understanding and Responding to Children’s Behaviour examines why children behave the way they do and gives you the tools to understand where a child’s behaviour may be coming from and proactively respond rather than react.

Participants attending Understanding and Responding to Children's Behaviour will:

  • Revisit the importance of building strong, warm relationships and connections that foster trust and security.
  • Review your knowledge of child development and the stages of growth that influence behaviour.
  • Be exposed to research on neuroscience and how brain development impacts learning and behaviour.
  • Revisit the vitally important role of the teacher and educator in shaping positive experiences.
  • Understand the importance of providing quality learning environments and how these spaces encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Be exposed to research on how trauma and disadvantage can negatively impact children’s development and the therapeutic value of play.
  • Receive resources on support services that can assist families.
  • Be exposed to the knowledge our consultants will share as well as their deep understanding of young children’s behaviour.
